TSA, SNA, & RDM (Via PDX & SEA)

This summer has been a lesson in TSA travel and learning airport codes like it’s nobody’s business. Yesterday I jumped my usual morning flight out of Orange County (sna), made a few quick stops in Seattle (sea) and Portland (pdx) and am now back in Central Oregon (rdm) for a few engagement sessions, a senior shoot, and a wedding I’ve been excited about for months. Last night I had the pleasure of kicking off my photography trip with Colton’s sister and soon to be brother-in-law. And truth be told it was one of my most favorite sessions – with some of my most favorite people – to date. They’re the type of people you’re thankful to be sharing life with.

A Sweet Kiss

I won't lie, I think I've mastered the art of packing. Clothing is rolled as to all fit in one carry-on, toiletries + the laptop are in my purse for easy access through security, and jewelery doesn't go on until after I make it to my gate. I'm heading out bright and early to shoot this sweet couple's wedding on Saturday and capture a few engagement sessions while I'm home. I came across this picture last week and realized that I can't look at Sammy + Griffin without smiling - something that makes me extra excited for their big day.

Flea Market Treasure

For months Colton and I have been wanting to experience the famed Rose Bowl flea market and yesterday, finally, we found a day to make it happen. We woke up early and stopped for coffee before making the 45 minute drive to Pasedena. We parked between rows of Uhauls and Penske trucks and felt inadequate walking through the entry gates without an oversized grocery cart. For hours we walked the rows upon rows of vintage and antique stuff. And when our feet grew tired and our minds were on trinket overload, we left, satisfied. But not before trying our hand at a barter. We eyed this old viewfinder camera on our first pass through the aisles and as we walked toward the car Colton suggested we pass the camera once more. I'm so glad we did because it happens to be quite charming and rather handsome nestled in the corner of my office. Reminding me of a time when taking pictures was a different ball game entirely.

Happy Monday, Michelle
