Our Newest Addition...

I'm way excited about this. Like, more excited than when, at age five, my parents told us we were going to Disneyland for spring break. More excited than that. A few weeks ago I surprised Colton with the film camera we've been dreaming of for months. For those of you who have trouble thinking back farther than 1999, this beauty uses real live film. The kind the comes in rolls, has different speeds and asks you to choose between color and black and white before you take the picture. Watch out, World. At this rate my next post will be about the new phone we got. It's attached to the wall and requires you to wait for a dial tone before making a call.

It's a happy day in this home!

Good Homes + Excuses :: Life

'But they need a good home!' It's what I say when I've found something I really want to buy but can't find a way to justify. Those shoes? They're so lonely without a loving closet to live in. These letterpress thank you cards? They're so sad without a place to call their own. And this heart shaped cake pan? It's really just yearning for a happy family to take her home.

So yesterday, when Colton was wondering why I felt the need to buy an assortment of flowers and a new pair of earrings, my response was simple - they really just begggged to come home with me.

I've been known to suffer from buyer's remorse. If you're not familiar it's the awful pit in your stomach felt after buying, say, gladiator sandals circa summer 2008. They're cool in the store and yet painfully un-cool once you get them back home. I digress. Today I'm happy to say I'm still 100% confident in my purchases, especially the earrings which loosely resemble a pastel puffer fish hung from chains of gold. These puppies are totally still cool at home.

Happy Monday,

Back to Routine :: Personal

I'm sitting in the Las Vegas airport waiting to board a flight to Atlanta and I could not be any more ready for take off. While the past few days have been full of incredible people {many of whom I'm blessed to call friends} and inspirational speakers, I'm yearning for the luxuries of my own home - my bed, the beach, and Colton. I'm also excited for these - to, like, wear them again. While I had the best of intentions for Vegas my P90X routine took a serious beating over the past week {and not in a good way}. I'm ready to return to the simplicity of my life - making coffee in the morning, eating meals in a home, and running on the beach. I know I'm easily pleased, but like to think my simple life is good one.

Happy Thursday,

Michelle
